1. Acceptance of Terms
By creating an account or using our services, you agree to these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, you may not use our services.
2. Description of Service
Authora AI is an AI-assisted book creation platform. It helps you plan, draft, illustrate and edit books, and export them as PDF files. Text and image generation is performed by third-party AI model providers (accessed through OpenRouter and, for some images, OpenAI).
Exported files are provided as a starting point for your own publishing workflow. You are responsible for checking that any file meets the technical and content requirements of the printer, retailer or platform you submit it to (for example Amazon KDP). Authora AI does not guarantee acceptance by any third-party publishing platform.
3. User Accounts
- You must be at least 18 years old to use our services
- You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials
- You must provide accurate and complete information when registering
- You may not share your account credentials with others
4. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use Authora AI to generate content that is unlawful, defamatory, or infringes third-party intellectual property rights
- Attempt to scrape, reverse-engineer, or abuse our APIs beyond their intended use
- Use automated scripts to generate content at a rate that circumvents credit or rate limits
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to our systems or other users' data
- Resell or redistribute the platform without permission
5. Credits and Purchases
Authora AI uses a credit-based model. You can buy credit packs; credits are consumed when you use AI features such as generating a book draft, an illustration, or a rewrite. If an AI operation fails on our side, the credit for that operation is returned automatically. All purchases are final and non-refundable except as required by law or at our sole discretion. Unused credits do not expire unless otherwise stated at the time of purchase.
6. AI-Generated Content
Content generated by Authora AI is produced by third-party AI models and may occasionally be inaccurate, incomplete, or unsuitable for your purposes. You are responsible for reviewing, editing, and ensuring the appropriateness of any content before publishing or distributing it. Authora AI makes no warranty regarding the accuracy, legality, or fitness of AI-generated outputs.
7. Intellectual Property
You retain ownership of the briefs and other content you provide to Authora AI. You also own the AI-generated outputs produced from your inputs, subject to the terms of the underlying AI model providers. Authora AIretains all rights to the platform, its code, and its technology.
8. Limitation of Liability
Authora AI shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages resulting from your use of or inability to use our services, including losses arising from AI-generated content, rejected publishing submissions, or third-party service outages.
9. Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time for violations of these terms or for any other reason at our discretion. Upon termination, your access to generated content will cease.
10. Changes to Terms
We may update these terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the revised Terms of Service on this page and updating the date above.
